On September 26, Amazon introduced game service - the Luna, which will operate on the principle of cloud storage. The service will enable to play the game using any platform, including mobile devices from Apple. Android is coming soon as well.
The service will run on Apple devices, regardless of the company's gaming services policy. The uniqueness of the Luna format is that it is an unusual application - it will not be sold in the App Store, since it is launched through a separate web stream after the application is installed on the desktop.
In addition, Amazon offers users the Luna+ game channel. On this channel, players will be able to access all the games that Luna will support. Service will be cost $ 6 per month.
Interestingly, new items from Ubisoft will soon be added to the Luna library, thanks to the company's cooperation with Amazon. In addition, many other games of the company will be added to the Luna game library. Some of the games were also announced on the Luna - among them not only new items, but also old hits (Resident Evil 7, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and many others).
In addition, Luna will provide players with access to Twitch, which is owned by Amazon. Players will be able to launch games directly from Twitch. This is similar to the functionality Google promised for Stadia and YouTube.
There will be no special equipment for the use of Luna, but Amazon is working on the release of its own controller. It will connect directly to the service, so syncing will work much better. From the beginning of sales, the controller for Luna will be cost $50. However, players will be able to use Luna with any other game controller or keyboard.
Access to the Amazon`s Luna is already available for residents of the mainland of the United States.
