Atari will release premium games

Atari
The first PC games will be released during this fiscal year, until 2022.

The American company Atari has decided to change the vector of its movement and is now going to release premium-class games instead of free-to-play games on smartphones. All current mobile projects of the company will be stopped or sold, and already launched popular releases will continue to be supported by Atari.

The company's CEO explained that this decision is related to Atari's vision of its future. The head of the company said that they are still interested in "expanding and developing their mobile games" and called the current situation "a change of focus." Interestingly, the first premium games are already in development - CEO noted that we will see them during this fiscal year, which will last until 2022. Unfortunately, no specifics have yet been announced.

Recall that Atari is known for its odious decisions. Starting with the development of game consoles, Atari had a share in the television market, as well as in the gambling business. In addition, there is a division of Atari Blockchain and the company announced plans to create a network of Atari Hotels. In 2019, the company released the controversial Atari VCS, which is a hybrid of a console and a PC device. As far as mobile games are concerned, Atari's designs have not enjoyed widespread popularity among gamers. Based on this, it will take a lot of effort for the company to gain credibility with future releases.
